Sebastian Vettel's Driver Bio
The boy wonder who has stolen a march on the field since he arrived in the spotlight in 2009 as a genuine title contender. Vettel has been dominant in Schumacher-esque style.
Whilst he’s a great personality off the track he’s been a love/hate character on the track with boyish charm versus his determined perfection. Between 2009 and 2013 he’s been a near faultless winner.
Vettel's Career High
4th consecutive Drivers World Championship in 2013 for Red Bull. In that season he took the record as the youngest 4 times World Champion. Most consecutive race wins (9) and also tallied up 13 race wins in what became one of his most dominant seasons.
Vettel's Defining Race
2013 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Starting from the pit lane due to a fuel infringement Vettel defied the critics by finishing 3rd after blasting through the field. With a pitstop for a new nose, Vettel seemed to come through the field twice at a track notoriously difficult to overtake at.
Vettel's Career Low
In the closing laps of the Malaysian GP in 2013 Vettel following team-mate Mark Webber in second place. With the team asking both drivers to 'turn down' their engines and coast to the finish. Vettel ignored the command and past Webber for the race win. This move had a huge impact on his fans opinion as well as building tension and distrust within the team. Vettel still receives boo's from the crowd to this day.
